Ecotone - a place of transition between ecological communities, ecosystems, or regions, often small in size, they can be relatively rich in biodiversity.  It can also be described as an area where different communities meet and integrate, it may be narrow or wide, local or regional.

Ecotone was part of a group exhibition - Between Two Sites - which was held at Burrinja Cultural Centre in Upwey, Victoria.

Shadows of leaves on snowy gnarled bark

Alpine daisies nodding softly in the mountain breeze

Water tumbling, dancing over pebbles

Ripples made by myriads of insects

Green, velvet moss flourishing in corners

Galleries of beetle art

Flash of colour on a wing

Waterfalls singing in hidden gullies

Tall, straight, majestic trunks reaching for the sun

The dart of a lizard

Fungi creating patterns of colour and shape

Magpies carolling

All the things I see

All the things I hear

All the things I need

Thank you to Bogong Centre for Sound Culture for the opportunity, to Daniel A’Vard for his invaluable help with the video and to Christian Capurro for some lovely images.
