Slow stitching
Letting the surroundings inspire me, letting the colours flow, letting the mood dictate the direction of the needle.
This is a collections of embroideries I have stitched over the last few years – many are done on eco-printed fabrics, some on found napkins or table runners, and others on whatever was in the stash in the sewing room. Some are on silk, some on cotton, some have layers – they are meditative and yet fun to create. They live in boxes or in drawers and I always have to iron them when I find them. Reflections on cloth of what I see around me - both natural and man-made.
